During Week 22, the Philadelphia 76ers and fantasy managers received two welcome boosts. Paul George returned on Wednesday from a 25-game league suspension, and Tyrese Maxey was back in the lineup on Saturday after missing three weeks with a finger injury. To say that their returns came at an excellent time would be an understatement, whether your league’s championship week was Week 22 or 23.
In Philadelphia’s March 28 win over the Hornets, George dropped a complete stat line, finishing with 26 points, 13 rebounds, two assists, four steals, one blocked shot and four three-pointers. Maxey was just as good, scoring 26 points while also recording seven rebounds, eight assists, one steal, one blocked shot and three three-pointers.

Add in Joel Embiid finishing with 29 points, six rebounds, two assists, two blocks and three three-pointers, and the 76ers’ three veteran scorers may have propelled some fantasy managers into a championship game or their league’s title.
While Maxey’s injury did not change much regarding his roster status, George was dropped onto some waiver wires, likely by managers either lacking the IL+ slot to stash him or in dire need of immediate production. Speaking as someone who was able to grab George off their league’s waiver wire last week, double-check that he’s rostered. If not, don’t hesitate to add George, especially with the 76ers playing four games in Week 23.
