15-Year-Old Suffers 'Traumatic Injuries' In Golf Cart Accident originally appeared on The Spun.

A golf cart accident has sadly left a 15-year-old with traumatic injuries.

According to AMI Sun, a passenger was ejected from a golf cart near North Shore Drive and Spring Avenue in Anna Maria, Florida. West Manatee Fire Rescue found the female on her side in front of the golf cart. Medical personnel had to stabilize her on a backboard before transporting her to Tampa General Hospital.  

"Golf cart had no damage noted," the report stated, via AMI Sun. "Driver of the golf cart states she was going 5-10 mph when she went to turn and her friend rolled out of the golf cart and fell onto the road. Patient was a 15-year-old female. She was initially alert to person, place and event, able to answer question between breaths, but she was spitting up blood and did not have a patent airway."

From the report: 

The patient was stabilized, placed on a backboard, placed onto a stretcher and moved to an ambulance. WMFR personnel helped establish IV access and set up intubation and fluid administration, according to the report.

The patient was sedated, intubated and transported to the helicopter landing zone at City Field in Holmes Beach, where Aeromed arrived, assumed treatment and transported the patient to Tampa General Hospital.

This isn't the first time a golf cart accident has occurred in the past few days. 

According to TribLive, a 39-year-old woman died in a golf cart accident in Westmoreland County. She reportedly passed away from blunt impact to the head.

As for the 15-year-old passenger involved in Monday's accident, she has reportedly suffered traumatic head and chest injuries. 

An update on her status hasn't been issued at this time.
