Tottenham have beaten off competition to land the signing of 18-year-old Archie Gray from Leeds United. Gray has signed a six-year deal at Spurs for a fee in the region of £30m plus Joe Rodon, who will sign for Leeds on a permanent deal with the fee undisclosed but is believed to be between £8-£10m.

It had been reported that Brentford had agreed personal terms for the midfielder, but in a twist to the saga, Spurs jumped in and managed to land his signature.

There has been much discussion about the youngster’s future following his season in the Championship last in 2023/24, after he made 52 appearances in all competitions for Leeds and he was also linked with German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Gray has also made two appearances for England at U-21 level and has has a pedigree at Leeds, with his grandfather Frank Gray and great-uncle Eddie Gray all having represented the club.

He will wear the number 14 jersey in north London.
