Wrapping up the 18th and penultimate round of the 2025 Brasileirão, Santos defeated Juventude 3-1 at MorumBIS this Monday (4th).

Without a win in three rounds, Peixe took the field under a lot of pressure, and this was reflected in the many mistakes by the São Paulo team.

However, Neymar (36′) pounced on a rebound from the goalkeeper in the box and opened the scoring for Santos.

Riding the momentum, Peixe extended the lead with Álvaro Barreal (39′), left unmarked in the box after a shot deflected off the defense.

In stoppage time of the first half, Marcelo Hermes took a corner and Wilker Ángel rose above everyone to head it in and pull one back for the team from Rio Grande do Sul.

In the second half, Santos made a lot of mistakes and even came under pressure from Juventude, but it was precisely after an unbelievable sequence of errors by the Alviverde defense that Peixe extended the lead with Neymar, converting a penalty.

The number 10 star completed five consecutive games, something that hadn’t happened since 2022. That was also the last year Neymar scored twice in a club match—PSG 7 x 1 Lille.

And, after almost 2 years, Neymar scored more than one goal in a match again. The last time was in coach Fernando Diniz’s debut for the Brazilian National Team, in the 5-1 rout over Bolivia in the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers.

With the win, Santos reached 18 points and left the relegation zone, climbing to 15th place.

The new member of the relegation zone is Vasco, with 15 points and in 17th position.

Juventude remains with 11 points and in the penultimate spot.
