Juventus have completed the signing of Chelsea’s Renato Veiga on loan until the end of the season.

The 21-year-old joined the Blues from Basel last summer but found playing time hard to come by, having last appeared in the Premier League against Tottenham in early December with a late substitute cameo.

Veiga’s deal does not include an option or obligation to make the move permanent.

Juventus will reportedly pay a fee of £4.2m to secure his services and will cover the entirety of the Portuguese defender’s wages.

Veiga is also eager to establish himself in the centre-back position in Turin, where the Bianconeri are in need of options, and started Portugal’s recent Nations League fixtures in that area.
